Carrick Community Councils’ Forum (CCCF) set up a series of ‘Road Show’ presentations across South Ayrshire throughout summer 2012. The purpose was to bring the community together to discuss ways of attracting more visitors and tourists to Carrick in future.
Over 400 people from 17 local communities were consulted including residents, tourism business operators and tourism industry representatives to discuss and reach agreement on the new direction of Carrick’s marketing. As well as the road show discussions, consultation was undertaken by email, phone and individual meetings.
Agreement was reached across a raft of marketing elements seen as the foundations on which to build and develop tourism: Carrick Ayrshire, urges tourists to ‘Experience more of Scotland’ through its new promotional strap line, a typographic logo, new portfolio of stunning photos and via publications and this website.
CCCF’s Chair, Peter Mason, said:
“This must be one of Scotland’s most ambitious tourism projects being managed by a community group. We have got off to a cracking pace and are very focused on delivering outcomes which will really work for the benefit of the wider community.”
