Running from Maidens to Dunure this stretch of the Ayrshire Coastal Path is packed full of Carrick History. A stretch of coastline famous for smuggling that also hosts Culzean Castle and Country Park, Dunure Castle and Dunure Harbour, this is a walk that cannot be missed. The walk itself is a mix of sandy beaches, paths, rocky outcrops and livestock areas, with Croy Bay a popular picnic spot on the way. There are dramatic views of Ailsa Craig, Ireland, Kintyre and Arran. It would be wise to check tide times before venturing onto this section.
